4-Ingredient Breakfast Bars

I’m making an effort to throw together healthy grab-and-go breakfast bars for busy mornings, and it turns out it doesn’t take much effort at all! These are a tasty, filling way to eat something you don’t peel out of a wrapper, and they take less than 5 minutes to make! 


Servings: 6 bars

Total Thyme: Less than 5 minutes



Almond Butter- ½ cup

Rolled Oats-2 cups

Agave Nectar, Honey or Maple Syrup (my vote is Agave because it pours out quickly)- ¼ cup

Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips- about 20



Add the almond butter and agave (or sweetener of your choice) to a sauce pan, turn it on low-medium, and once they’re heated up mix them together so they’re totally blended.


Throw the oatmeal in your blender and pulse until it’s broken down to flour.


Add the oatmeal to the almond butter/agave pan and mix well.


Line a baking sheet with wax paper and plop the mixture on top. Flatten it out so that you can cut into bars, about ½ inch high. This will only take up about 1/3 of the pan. (Scroll down to see photo).


Space the chocolate chips across this sheet of almond butter goodness and press them in.


Stick the pan in the fridge for 30 minutes or so, then remove and cut into 6 bars. Store in the fridge (I put them in sandwich bags so I can grab and go).


Grab the on your way out in the morning and pat yourself on the back, because you’re CRUSHING it!
